Fractional Cascade LFC for Distributed Energy Sources via Advanced Optimization Technique Under High Renewable Shares

Unpredictable high renewable shares in standalone microgrid (MG) system with stochastic load demands introduces an unavoidable mismatch among loads and sources. This directly impacts the frequency that can be mitigated via applying a suitable control (LFC) scheme. brief proposes maiden attempt of marine predator algorithm (MPA) assisted one plus proportional derivative filter-fractional order proportional-integral ((1+PDF)-FOPI) controller to obtain proper power flow management The investigated MG consists photovoltaic (PV) system, wind turbine (WT) generator (WTG), diesel engine (DG) as distributed energy sources, ultracapacitor (UC) flywheel are chosen storage elements (ESEs). Various nonlinearities such governor dead-band (GDB) generation rate constraint (GRC) also considered reflecting practical scenario. Five state-of-the-art optimization techniques three traditional controllers, PID, FOPID, PI-PD, vividly compared assess proposed scheme’s performance. parametric uncertainties robust performance An eigenvalues-based stability evaluation plant employing LFC scheme is included this work. In worst situation, maximum deviation obtained -0.016 Hz, which entirely satisfactory under range IEEE standard. Finally, modified New England IEEE-39 test bus perform real-time validation.
